Global Alliance of Cities for Road Safety (ACRoS)

Empowering Cities. Saving Lives.

ACRoS is a dynamic, city-led initiative dedicated to making urban roads safer for all. The network serves as a global hub where cities connect, learn, and exchange best practices to tackle road safety challenges while advancing climate goals.

Launched in January 2023 and funded by the UNRSF, ACRoS is grounded in the principles of the Safe System Approach and is committed to reducing road traffic fatalities worldwide through collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based solutions.

Our work is built on three critical pillars.

Capacity building and exchange

Through cross-city exchange and building capacity, we collaborate with cities to improve their road safety management in alignment with the Safe Systems Approach, and complementary to the national policy framework.

Investment for scaling

We work to leverage additional investment in sustainable mobility and road safety projects to scale-up interventions in selected cities.

Catalytic action

We help develop pilot initiatives that contribute to improved road safety and reduced fatalities at city and neighborhood level with strong participation of vulnerable groups.

Become a member of ACRoS

By joining the Global Alliance of Cities for Road Safety (ACRoS), municipalities become integral members of a dynamic network committed to advancing road safety in urban settings.
